Fedor Shagzheev, an engineer and founder of Sanmark LLC, has worked in the telecommunications industry for over ten years. Without reliable communications, it is impossible to imagine the operation of emergency services, the functioning of digital services, or the development of regions as a whole.
“When we talk about 5G, most people think about high internet speeds,” notes Shagzheev. “But for an engineer, 5G is, first and foremost, a guarantee of stability. This is a network that must operate under any conditions, because thousands of processes depend on it”.

Fedor has extensive experience working on large-scale digital projects. FirstNet is a nationwide broadband network for first responders in the United States, created as part of a public-private partnership between the federal government and AT&T.
“FirstNet is a clear example of how communications in the modern world is becoming a matter of public safety. We’re dealing with systems that must operate in extreme conditions. Any failure in such a system is unacceptable, because human lives depend on it”, the engineer tells us.
The transition to fifth-generation networks requires a complete overhaul of security and quality control standards in the context of a rapidly evolving digital world.
The hype surrounding 5G may make it seem like the technology has already become a permanent fixture in our lives, but in reality, people still have time to prepare. The transition to the next generation of networks will take a long time, although the first changes are already noticeable.
“5G can be considered the foundation of digital sovereignty. The technological independence of an entire country depends on how well we build these networks. That’s why engineers working in this field are effectively becoming the guardians of national stability and sustainability”, Fedor concludes.
